Hospital social work requires highly professional knowledge and skills，but the college and formal education has long been lagging behind，this paper offers a perspective concerning professional continuous education about medical social work. Shanghai，as one of the earliest cities，which has hospital social work，has certain representative in development route and education mode. Part Ⅰ，the background part，represents the current needs and supported policy for Shanghai hospital social work in medical service transformation period. Part Ⅱ，the foundational piece of this paper，describe the current continuing education system including the main goal of training class，curriculum provision and the trainers’ source. Based on this foundation，it shows some problems and deficiencies when the continuing education mode trying to match the needs of hospital social work. On account of education will impact on the developing process of medical social work，necessary and feasible education mode should be served. This paper proposes a multi-cooperation mode to provide professional training matched the ability demand for hospital social work.
