The Case Guidance System is an important part of the Socialistic Judicial System with Chinese Characteristics. With the in-depth implementation of the Case Guidance System，the functions of exemplary cases are becoming apparent increasingly. These functions includes summarizing experience and guiding the practice in trials，regulating the discretion of the judges，maintaining the judicial justice，propagating the law and promoting the legislation etc. In 2016，under the guidance of the Supreme People’s Court，Henan’s Courts further constructed and perfected the working system and mechanism of Exemplary Cases，reassigned research backbone staff to form research group and finally finished the Study Report of Civil Cases（2016）which was also based on the suggestions from many experts and scholars. We hope this report could help improve the working quality in the work of Case Guidance throughout the whole province and provide references for judicial trials and theoretical research.
