Based on field survey in S county of Yunnan Province，this paper describes the living situation of persons with disabilities in economically undeveloped areas of China. It focuses on identification of women with disabilities and how they perceive social labelling. The paper mainly examines two aspects in this regard：how they see themselves，interact with the living environment and cope with daily issues such as mobility，business，family and rehabilitation；and how people around perceive disability and the situation of persons with disabilities.
