The launch of the psychological research program on culture mixing has inspired research into psychological and behavioral processes accompauied by globalization-initiated socio-cultural changes，as well as transformations in contemporary China. This volume contains eight empirical papers that cover a broad range of theoretical questions. These papers explore various psychological phenomena in the context of culture mixing，including the influence of status perception on creativity，cultural values and cognition about inter-ethnic relations，the process of cultural adaptation，the cultural exclusion effect，political efficacy，cultural norms and authority identification. In this introductory essay，we highlight the social relevance of these contributions and discuss the significant implications of psychological research of culture mixing for understanding the social development in China.
