本报告研究了澳大利亚的休闲与户外游憩发展。文章首先探讨了运动、体育休闲以及文化活动的发展趋势，然后从联邦、州和地方政府三个层级上，对政府在这些活动中的作用分别进行了论述，分析了澳大利亚政府参与休闲与户外游憩的原因，并做了两个关于地方政府休闲活动的案例研究。
<<This chapter discusses leisure and outdoor recreation in Australia. It firstly discusses trends in sport and physical recreation，as well as cultural activities. Next the role of the government in these activities is discussed，at three levels，Federal，State and Local Government levels. The reason why governments in Australia are discussed and two case studies of local government recreation activities are provided.
