Established in 1949，Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft （FHG） is the largest research institute of applied science in Germany and even in Europe. It provides the industry with products and services with advanced technologies and mature commerce，committed to filling the gap between technical R&D and industrialization in key fields. Its operation model shows distinctive characteristics. This text analyzes the FHG from the areas such as fields of focus，key tasks，fund management mode and alliance organization. On this basis，it suggests the inspiration to construct an innovation center for the manufacturing industry of China by referring to FHG model.
