This report firstly summarizes the ecological，economic and social benefits of returning farmland to forest engineering is reviewed，secondly based on the returning farmland to forest project in 1999-2014 data，there are some positive effect that returning farmland to forest policy effected on farmers income structure，agricultural structure，agricultural population flow and forest tourism from theoretical and empirical. In order to further consolidate the effect of returning farmland to forest project in sichuan province，strengthen the policy economic effect of the income，structural and synergistic. Finally put forward the corresponding policy recommendations，for the next step policy of returning farmland to forest engineering design，adjustment and implementation to provide a strong reference.
