At present，a basic task of nurturing and practicing the socialist core values is how to make the content and spirit of the core values be universally recognized among Chinese citizens. The results of this survey show that after several years of propagation and education，people’s recognition of the socialist core values have been generally improved. At the same time，the survey results also reveal some problems，mainly as follows. Even though the traditional values play a positive role in cultivating and practicing the core socialist values，the traditional ones still have a certain negative impact. Citizens’ understanding of specific meaning of those core values are ambiguous，which is not productive for the cultivation and practice of those values. The differentiation of social strata and the emergence of diversified economic interests have certain impact on a consensus of values in the whole society. At the end of this report，it is suggested that the proper view of traditional culture，the strengthening of the theoretical definition of core values and the construction of a just and fair society are the major goals to cultivate and practice socialist core values.
