Kouminkan, which derives from the history and customs of Japan, is a typical social educational institution with Japanese characters. "Cultural Center" is a sector of culture undertakings, which is one and only sector in China. Those two institutions have a lot in common. This paper discussed the types, origin and development, existing condition,functions and tasks, principles of operation as well as the basic system of Kouminkan, in order to sum up some useful points for the development of "Cultural Center" under the public cultural service systems in our country. <<
