运用形象修复理论,通过分析马来西亚在“马航事件”中的有关新闻报道、新闻发布会文本、官方声明等样本,考察马来西亚政府在“马航事件”中的国家形象修复策略及其效果。研究发现,马来西亚政府主要运用了否定、转移矛盾、减少敌意和修正行为四种策略来修复形象。自相矛盾的说辞、建立在错误信息基础之上的说服,以及公众和媒体的负面舆论,表明马来西亚政府的国家形象修复策略是不成功的,应从加强责任意识、重视公共舆论、提高危机沟通技巧等方面加以改进。
<<This study analyzes the image repair strategies by Malaysia’s discourse on Missing Flight MH370 crisis though rhetorical analysis on news coverage,statements,and transcripts of press conferences conducted by the Malaysia government officials. Malaysia employed several image repair strategies(denial,evading responsibility,reducing offensiveness of event,corrective action). However,its messages were contradictory and apparently related on false information,which indicates its efforts were unsuccessful. What should be done to improve its image in future is to strengthen the sense of responsibility,attach importance to public opinion and to enhance crisis communication skills.
