<<With the development of globalization, informationization and democratization, the non-governmental actors represented by mass media are increasingly participating in the construction of national image of one country, influencing, through ways like agenda setting, the spread of shared knowledge and the formation of identity. Brazil’s mainstream media has wide audience and high social trust, which makes it the most important channel for Brazilian people to get access to information about China. Their reporting frequency, choice of topics and language organization has a significant influence for China’s national image in Brazil that cannot be ignored. Although China’s current image in Brazil as a whole is relatively positive, but there are still spaces for further enhance and expansion. From the year 2015 to the year 2016,with the Olympic Games,G20 and other focus events as an opportunity, the focus and content of Brazilian media’s reports on China’s have changed, tending to be more positive and showing more China’s “soft power”,so that the national image of China in Brazil has been changing from the originally relatively partial, alienated “business partner” and “distant exotic land” to a richer, closer and “softer” one, which provides possibility to further enhance China’s national image in Brazil by its media. Opportunities and challenges coexist and we should strengthen the transnational media cooperation and expand the influence of overseas media parting from the sights of channel and content,so as to enhance China’s national image in Brazilian media in a comprehensive, sustainable and efficient way.
