Currently，Anhui tourism has entered a new phase of development，which requires a provincial and comprehensive perspective in promoting its reform and development. This report first examines the prerequisites for tourism to become a growth pole for provincial economic development in terms of five aspects，namely，market demand for tourism，industrial correlation effects，scale of tourism economy，advantages of tourism resources，and environment for tourism development. It then examines the guidance and support functions of tourism as a growth pole for provincial economic development. Finally，it proposes priorities for tourism reform and development in the province with economic growth pole as the target，which include management systems and mechanisms，space for tourism industry，landscape for tourism products，subjects for tourism industry，and tourism marketing.
