2016年,巴西和美国都经历了巨大的政治变革。在巴西,伴随着经济危机,发生在政治领域的一场颇具争议的弹劾案突然终止了为时近14年的中左翼政权。随后,政治经济右翼的保守派精英统治了南美洲这个最大的国家。他们主张与美国和中国等大国结盟。在美国,如果竞选承诺得到履行,唐纳德·特朗普的当选就意味着保护主义的加强,由此可能导致世界经济的衰退。尽管巴西和美国这两届政府在意识形态上更趋一致,但结构性障碍可能影响到两国关系的发展。本文拟对新的政治经济形势下巴西与美国的关系进行探讨。
<<Brazil and the United States have undergone huge political changes in 2016. A controversial impeachment process abruptly interrupted 14 years of left-leaning government,following economic crisis. At this point the largest South American country is governed by right-conservative elites,in political and economic realms,that favor the alignment with powers such as the U.S. and China. In America,if the campaign promises are maintained,the election of Donald Trump will mean more protectionism that could lead to world economic recession. Although the present governments in both countries are more ideologically aligned,structural barriers might block the approach. This article investigates US-Brazil relations under new political and economic scenarios.
