金融业的产生与发展催生了金融信息服务。金融市场的发展是互联网金融信息服务的发展基础与重要依托。金融信息服务也会对金融业发展和金融市场稳定运行产生重要影响。本文对金融业发展与金融信息服务之间的相互关系进行了简要理论阐述，分析了我国金融业发展特别是资本市场发展对金融信息服务的驱动作用，进一步从银行、证券、保险、混业经营和互联网金融的发展现状与特点等角度，刻画了我国金融信息服务面临的金融业发展环境。
