Affected by continuous adjustment of the industrial structure，especially the “cut excessive capacity” brings the development of high energy consuming industries slowed down，and the electricity consumption grew slowly due to the continuous adjustment of industrial structure，especially the high energy consuming industry growth decline. This paper reviews the electricity consumption development situation in 2016 from the dimensions of electricity consumption growth，demand structure，power load and industry expansion installation. What’s more，combing the impacts of supply-side structural reform，power system reform，electric power replacement and air pollution control，this paper prospects the electricity demand of Henan province in 2017，and makes some recommendations for promoting the transformation and upgrading of Henan electricity consumption.
