The Nobel Prize is one of the highest-level awards for scientists in the world and it is necessary for Chinese researchers to have ideas about how and why their counterparts in other countries could get such a blue-ribbon. The present studies have analyzed the winners' research motivation and believed that researchers' intrinsic research motivation, based on their curiosity and loyalty to truth, has greatly contributed to their success. Besides, the educational environment and research evaluation system in the winner's countries enable their pure research motivation to survive and sustain. <<
