This paper analyzes the competitiveness of hospitals in North China through the Four Horizontal and Two Vertical rankings of regional hospitals. It is concluded that the medical resources in Beijing are extremely rich，the number and competitiveness of the top hospitals are obvious and siphonage is formed in the surrounding areas. In addition，the prefecture-level and county-level hospitals in North China are not balanced，the provincial top 30 hospitals are mostly concentrate in the provincial capital cities，the implementation of hierarchical treatment can possibly improve the regional balance.
