Objectives：This paper aims to present the development trend of hospital accreditation at home and abroad，and provide suggestions and references for the successful and effective development of hospital accreditation in China. Methods：A series of domestic and foreign hospital accreditation systems including JCI，KTQ，ACHS and Ailibi Star Certification are analyzed by using literature induction and induction deduction from the aspects of the basic situation of the systems，the system framework processes and the system performance summaries. Results：Making the independent third-party hospital accreditation become the mainstream trend and medical quality and patient safety be protected to the maximum extent can better reflect the purpose of promoting through evaluations. Conclusion：The evaluation of hospitals in our country should grasp the key of the independent third-party accreditation，eliminate all but the essential and adjust in line with local conditions.
