As an important strategic decision of our country, the plan of having college-graduate as village officials is of crucial strategic significance to support the economic and social development of western rural areas and to strengthen the talent support for undeveloped western areas. This paper analyzes the realistic need of external college-graduate input of Yongsheng county, Yunnan Province. Based on the specific circumstances of college-graduate village officials in Yongsheng, the paper shows the experiences of college-graduate village officials management and development in Yongsheng and also its difficulties. Finally, it presents some suggestions including improving the salary of college-graduate village officials in poor areas, taking the professional advantages of college-graduate village officials and establishing the long-term effective mechanism of college-graduate village officials.
