This paper makes an appraisal of the sexual discrimination in wage earnings of urban workers in China by drawing on the data from the 2002 urban residents census and the Blinder-Oaxaca wage differential analytical method. The findings from the appraisal：Of the difference in wage earnings between men and women，54.4 percent should be imputed to effects of difference in individual characteristics and 45.6 percent to effects of sexual discrimination.
