Women’s Studies as a discipline in post-secondary and higher education is still at the beginning stage. Women’s university and colleges have an important mission to promote the recognition of women’s studies as a disciplinary field in which degrees can be granted as well as the academic standards inherent to the women’s studies. There has been progress made for women’s studies to gain recognition as a legitimate academic field from the government and relevant educational agencies as well as at the levels of universities，departments and branches and to be provided with administrative space and status. However，there are still a number of issues facing women’s studies in areas of policy investment and the field of studies，curriculum development and exchanges across universities.
