The destruction of the nipa palm forest in the Provincial Vatica Mangachapoi Forest Reserves Park in the Shimei Bay,Wanning,Hainan Province,has drawn an extensive public concern and called public attention to the protection of the coastal shelter belt in the island province,and excited widespread discussions. By studying the nipa palm destruction incident,this paper analyzes the current situation,problems and challenges of coastal shelter belt protection in China. <<
