The smoggy weather in 2011 has caused public concern,and PM2.5,a term of atmospheric environment,has since come into the range of public vision. The public,getting familiar with the harm of PM2.5 particles,has started to participate in and contribute to the environmental management process in this respect. This paper sorts out public concern on PM2.5 in 2011,and divides the whole process into three phases to describe the actions and contributions of the media,government,experts,NGOs and individuals have done. This paper briefly introduces the monitoring and research of PM2.5 in China is conducted,analyzes the reason why public participation in 2011 was able to promote the development of PM2.5 environmental management process and makes suggestions as to how to enhance public participation in environmental management from the perspective all stakeholders respectively. <<
