This paper analyzes the total amount of ConocoPhillips oil spill in the Bohai Bay and the extent of pollution, argues that this oil spill has caused more pollution than the 2010 Mexican oil spill, and believes that ConocoPhillips should be held responsible. Taking into account the fact that the Bohai Bay has already been the most polluted sea area in China, this paper also projects the development of pollution and the disturbing possibility of ecological disasters there. Furthermore,an appeal is made to relevant governmental agencies to review the unsuitability of oceanic environment administration and to learn a lesson from this pollution incident. Suggestions are also made to the administrators to,with determination, address the pollution issue of the Bohai Bay,solve the ecological crisis, enhance the regulated management of gas and oil storage stations and, conduct risk assessments of oil depots in environment-sensible areas,so as to remove all latent hazards. As a conclusion, this paper argues for the necessity of controlling oil and gas exploitation and rationalizing economic development.
