In 2011, the retail industry of Guangzhou kept flourishing and the gross retail sales of social consumer goods exceeded 500 billion Yuan for the first time; the added business value (including wholesale and retail industry and living and catering industry) covered 15.6% of GDP of the whole city and covered 25.3% of the service industry; the employees covered above forty percent of all employees engaged in service industry; and the contribution rate of consumption to economic increase exceeded sixty percent. The building of international commercial and trade center was quickened, the emerging business circles and traditional business circles were flourishing, modern marketing mode and emerging retail industry format developed rapidly, the development environment was further optimized by a batch of high-end business facilities, and thus Guangzhou continued to rank first in "Forbes Chinese Mainland's Best Business Cities" and its radiometric force as a central city was further improved. In 2012, affected by persistent upgrading of residents' consumption and withdrawal of national consumption stimulating policy, the retail industry will develop steadily, the increase of gross retail sales will become stable and slow down, and the gross retail sales of social consumer goods of Guangzhou is estimated to reach 600 billion Yuan, increasing by about 15%;
