在中国研究中或隐或显地存在两种价值倾向:特殊主义和普遍主义;按照韦伯和哈贝马斯的有关阐述,价值选择在一定程度上、一定前提下是可以进行批判、质疑、检讨的,价值领域中是可以借助于交往理性而建立起某些普遍共识的;就对于价值取向的意义而言,中国研究可以纳入哈贝马斯所说的交往行动而从属于不同文化之间的理性对话,其价值归依,应该是在达成不同社会文化之价值取向相互理解的基础上,谋求普遍的价值共识。
<<There are two contrasting value orientations in the field of China studies:universalism and particularism. According to Max Weber and Jürgen Habermas,the choice of value is,under certain conditions and to a certain extent,liable to be criticized,challenged,and examined. It is possible to establish some consensus about values by means of communicative rationality. In terms of its value orientation,China studies can be regarded as a range of rational communicative acts between different cultures. Thus,the value basis of China studies should be found on some kind of universal value consensus that can only be achieved by way of the mutual understanding between diverse value orientations of different social cultures.
