According to the survey data on internet use by Chinese minors, Tencent website enjoys wide popularity among teenagers. The Tencent Kid Channel, as a major specific channel for kids in domestic websites, is an internet service platform targeted towards kids aged between 5 and 13. This study conducts an in-depth interview of the directors of the Tencent Kid Channel, and introduces and analyses the development and use of the Kid Channel in terms of its design and customer use. The study also makes a contrastive analysis of Tencent Kid Channel and other kid-related websites, in an attempt to offer suggestions for the building of comprehensive websites for kids.
