本报告主要解决两个问题：中国经济增长是否减缓了贫困，以及经济增长如何影响减缓贫困。研究发现，经济增长不一定必然引起贫困规模减小。中国的经济增长发挥了减缓贫困的作用，但相比其他发展中国家并不强。
<<This chapter focuses on two questions：whether China’s economic growth reduced the poverty？How the economic growth affect the poverty reduction？According to analysis，the reduction effect of the economic growth on poverty headcount is not necessarily；China’s economic growth reduced the poverty incidence but the level is lower than the effects in other developed countries.
