With the reform and opening-up policy carried on，the marketization has grown rapidly and the new social stratum has become an important force in the period of social transformation. This report is based on the data collected by “the living conditions of megalopolis’ residents survey in Beijing，Shanghai and Guangzhou.” It mainly analyzed some aspects of the new social stratum including family economic condition，employment and social security，lifestyle and stratum identification，social participation，attitudes and values. The research finds out that the new social stratum own a better family economic condition，and higher employment and social security level. Meanwhile，the new social stratum has their unique lifestyle and keeps positive attitude towards society. Hence the new social stratum plays an important role in promoting social ideological emancipation，social morality and social progress. In other words，we can conclude that it has become a vital issue for us to lead the new social stratum to develop healthily.
