The cultural volunteer services of public libraries play an important role in promoting the spirit of public library and volunteerism，building the scholarly society，optimizing human resources and meeting the diverse demands of readers. It also helps to create the innovation of service medium and carriers in the internet age. Chinese cultural volunteer service of public library started in the 1990s. It has formed the characteristics of extensively social participation，the diversification，community-based，normalization and branding of service contents and forms，standardization of management mechanism and so on. In the future，the public libraries should further to promote the relationship of the co-operation and the network building among their cultural volunteer service organization，while continue to strengthen the normalization，standardization，characterization of the service contents and branding of cultural volunteer services.
