The German Design Council which is well-known in foreign countries is an independent international governing body to determine the form of the excellent German products，to provide the exchange of information for the various design organizations，and to joint those outstanding international brands and to promote the design trends for the purpose of commercial areas，which give a strong impetus to economic development in Germany，making Germany becoming one of the world’s fastest growing industrial country. In this paper，firstly，we introduce the establishment background，main function and development process of the German Design Council，then analyse the relative factors in the development of the Council，historical experience and the influence and the future development trend in order to provide the referable theory guidance and policy basis for the development of China’s design industry.
