Since the downturn of the gaming industry of Macao from the middle of 2014，the convention and exhibition industry has played a stimulating role on the related industries such as hotel and retail. The statistics of 2015 shows that the number of large-scale exhibitions hosted in Macao increased，which essentially drove the rise in the number of exhibition participants. Conventions with themes such as trade，business，culture，arts and tourism experienced the biggest growth in attendance. This article discusses the problems and trends of the industry，and proposes strategies for a sustainable development for the future.
