After Reunification，civic associations in Macao have experienced changes in quantity，structure，activity and relations. The quantitative growth of associations reflects a strong sense of civil and political participation and increasing social division. The structural change of associations shows the rise of the middle class. Changes in association activities suggest an enhancement of their quasi-party functions. The change in the relations between associations shows a switch in social political ecology in Macao. In other words，all changes of civic associations reflect the changes of political environment，social structure and political ecology in post-Reunification Macao，within which an increasing social division，the rise of middle class and politicisation can be witnessed.
