<<Based on the survey of 599 civilians and 120 complaints by letters and visits, this study explores the social psychological profile of these two groups. The research shows that the civilians have the medium level of social mentality status, but far away from “excellent” level. Relatively, the complainants have consistent social evaluation and experiences with the civilians;but lower self-assessment. There are significant differences in such aspects like self-evaluation,the cognition of marriage & family, interpersonal cognition, mental health and feeling of relative deprivation between these two groups. However, these two groups both have similar sense of belonging to lower social class. The study also reveals that, comparing to the civilians, the complainants have a lower level in positive emotion, but a higher level in negative emotion.
