This study aimed to investigate life satisfaction and social support among Beijing residents. Using several related scales regarding life satisfaction，social support and self-rated mental & social health，we assessed 5010 residents in Beijing. Results showed that the general life satisfaction among Beijing residents was at average level；the three most satisfied aspects were family relationship，physical health and working status；the four most unsatisfied aspects were the price of daily consumption goods，food security，housing conditions and household income. From the perspective of social support，24.9% of the residents were at high level，73.5% were at average level，and 1.6% were at low level. For most residents，their main social support still came from the family and relatives. Meanwhile，we also found that the level of subjective support，the level of support utilization and the level of general social support had the positive correlation with life satisfaction；the social support （including all its dimensions ） also had the positive correlation with self-rated mental health and social health. Finally，in order to improve the life satisfaction and social support of the residents，we also put forward some policy related advice.
