Australia and Indonesia are major countries in Oceania and Southeast Asia respectively. Both countries have formulated their maritime development and security strategies in recent years. Maritime cooperation between the two countries is an important aspect of the bilateral relationship. Reviewing the evolution of the maritime strategies of the two countries and the achievements and challenges of the bilateral maritime cooperation will contribute to the cooperation with them under the construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
