It’s the “Year of Election” of Canada in 2015. Of course economic and trade issues always dominate the election agenda，but this time there is something a little bit different，for diplomacy or international affairs appear to have been salient in choosing a new leader. Regarding to Canadian diplomacy in 2015/2016，a major feature is that its grand strategy is undergoing a new adjustment—seeking an existence in Asia and especially in East Asia，which can be described as Canadian version of a “Pivot to Asia”. This paper will discuss this new trend of Canadian diplomacy in the fields of economy and security，and analyze the major actions and effects. The paper will also discuss，in this process，Canada’s attitude towards China and the prospect of China-Canada relationship.
