Science popularization at the community level serves as an important part for science popularization practice in China. For many years in a row，especially since the inception of 2011 when action scheme on the implementation of scientific literacy for the residents at the community level was put in place，the policy environment for science popularization work at the community level，its facility development and its personnel network construction have continuously improved，the capability on how to organize science popularization activities has increased，and residents have shown increasing zeal in gaining access to such activities，etc. Based on making an analysis of the development practice of science popularization at the community level，the paper comes up with some suggestions for its development where to enhance vitality of science popularization mechanism at the community level，and to further bolster its ability serving the local community residents is the main direction which science popularization at the community is marching towards.
