“Creating a livable，entrepreneurial，safe and healthy city” was set as the city development orientation in Yichang City of Hubei Province. Healthy Cites was launched in Yichang City in 2012，which was based on the four dimensions framework of healthy cities，including healthy environment，healthy population，healthy services and healthy society. Owing to many measures such as Health in All Policies，building green ecological city，promoting urban and rural integrated development，creating health supportive environment，optimizing health services and building healthy society，Yichang City has achieved more space of urban development，better gratification and acquisition for citizen，and significantly improved popularity of the city. Development orientation of Yichang City was based on the correct understanding of the relation between people and city. The development orientation agrees with the expectation of people to urban development and the needs of sustainable economic and social development.
