The Yi ethnic is one of the more populous ethnic minorities in the southwest of China，which has a long history culture and unique folk customs. In the long-term production and life practice，the intangible cultural heritage created by the Yi ethnic is an essential part of the cultural heritage of the ethnic minorities in China. In the background of social generalization and intangible economy era coming，the inheritance and development of the intangible culture heritage of the Yi ethnic has great historical significance and realistic values. This thesis was based on the detailed statistics of the Yi ethnic intangible cultural heritage lists and current situation of successors in Sichuan，Yunnan and Guizhou，Guangxi provinces，combined with present academic studies and its social foundation，and analyzed the categories and properties，shortcomings and inadequacies of the intangible cultural heritage of the Yi ethnic，then put forward effective advises and suggestions.
