The current study is based on Chinese culture and explores elder people’s subjective well-being. Depth interview was conducted on 13 elder persons. With the information in the interviews，the primitive Subjective Well-being Questionnaire of Elder People was developed. Exploratory factor analysis was used to find out the dimensions of the questionnaire. The questionnaire has 19 items with four dimensions and presents reasonable indexes of internal consistency：Cronbach’s alpha 0.868 and Guttman split-half 0.727. It can be accepted as a tool for the measurement of the “elder people’s subjective well-being”.
