Being the flagship project for “the Belt and Road” Initiative，the CPEC is aimed at the connectivity between China and Pakistan，boosting the trade-economic cooperation，economic integration，and economic development. The CPEC has moved from the planning stage to comprehensive execution. The economic and social effects of the economic corridor are already showing while challenges and problems are not to be neglected，considering the political，economic，security risks in Pakistan. This paper makes a comprehensive study of the major risks and problems in the building of CPEC before making policy proposals from both macro and micro perspectives.
