Based on calculations，the social development index for Anhui Province in 2014 was 0.348，a slight increase as compared with 0.336 in 2013. Despite changes in ranking for different regions of Anhui Province as compared with that of 2013，Tongling，Huangshan and Chizhou have kept being the top three of the province for four consecutive years，while Bozhou，Suzhou and Fuyang being the bottom three for four years in a row. The rest of the cities have all moved up or down the ranking scale，among which the social development index of Hefei increased from 0.364 in 2013 to 0.393 in 2014，thus moving its corresponding ranking two places upward.
