The field of disability research in Ireland has been expanding in Ireland. To ensure the quality of research and protection of research participants，Irish National Disability Authority has produces the guidelines to assist disability research. The guidelines have drawnfrom best practice internationally，and a wide process of consultation was conducted，in particular consultation with people with disabilities. These guidelines are designed to be used by those involved in funding，conducting，or managing disability research，most especially that which involves people with disabilities as participants.
