E. Howard systematically proposed the concept about "Garden City" in the 19th century. Patrick Geddes, living in the same time with Howard cleared the relationship between technology and environment, and put forward that nature and cities should be integrated. Later,Wheaton and Shahn both developed the "Garden City" thought. Into the 20th century, "Urban Ecology" and "Ecological Planning" were put forward and deep developed. In the 1980s, the Green City Thought focused on how to resolve the aggravation of urban environment. In the practice of Green City, Curitiba in Brazil, Singapore and Malmo in Sweden, respectively represent the large cities, developed metropolitan with scared resources and developed small-medium cities and successfully in developing region. These cities made effective innovations in different aspects such as waste recycling, public traffic construction, new energy development, public environmental education and green building design, etc.. These experiences provide us lessons in constructing green cities in different regions of China.
