Certain major development trends can be observed in Macau's printing and publishing sectors in recent years, including the founding of new sectoral organisations, a significant decrease in local publications, the emergence of electronic publications and the revision of the copyright legal framework. Meanwhile, the printing and publishing sectors of Macau are facing bottlenecks of development, particularly imbalances in supply and demand in terms of equipment, human resources and distribution network. The more common application of electronic communications technologies and the deepening of regional cooperation will provide breakthrough to these bottlenecks, bringing possibilities to the sectors to extend further spaces for development.
