In 2011, one of the public administration reforms of Macau Special Administration Region is the introduction of a civil servant central recruitment mechanism. First, this essay will trace the evolution of civil servant recruitment mechanism in Macau and clarify the complex structure between different mechanisms to analysis the cause and effect of this reform. After reveal both of the advantages and some potential flaws of the new mechanism, the essay tries to show multiple significances of this reform. At last, it also points out that the new reform will develop with many challenges.
