Since human being stepped into risk society，tech rumors have gradually become “information cascades”，receiving much concern from the public and researchers. Compared with other rumors，what characters do tech rumors have？And what factors can influence the generation and spread of tech rumors？In the internet environment，what are the main paths of tech rumors’ internet self-clarification and external-clarification？According to the risk society theory，this study analyses the content of annual “Top 10 tech rumors” in 2012-2014 and the information that dispelled the rumors. The research result shows that the tech rumors focused on important issues like “medical health” and “food safety” gained the most attention. And the factors that influence the spread of tech rumors also include：uncertainty of tech risks，simplification degree of the rumors，citation of professional subject words and research results abroad，as well as network interpersonal relationship. As to the internet self-clarification function，technology websites like Guokr have become the main force，and internet communication itself can also rumors’“dissimilation” function. As to the external-clarification mechanism，we should establish safe social environment，improve the standard of technology report，encourage and support scientists to popularize science，strengthen the public’s scientific literacy，so as to reduce perception of risks and avoid crisis brought by risk society.
