As a disadvantaged group，Yi minority children with disabilities in poor areas of western China face great challenges in accessing education，which is not conducive to the realization of social integration and social justice.It is found that the main objective reasons include serious shortage of financial support，lack of professionals and imperfect legal system，while the subjective factors include lack of rights awareness among parents of the Yi children with disabilities and the children’s sense of inferiority.It is suggested that to improve the situation，government should increase the funds allocated to special education in western poor areas，further carry out the preferential policies in minority areas and cultivate more trained professionals in the field of special education in minority areas.
