Description and representation of people with disabilities is a fact of social construction.Cultural perspective of disability research pays attention to the deconstruction of prejudices and discriminatory attitudes in cultural values.This paper discusses the social imagination of “national self-empowerment role models” in terms of their sex，age，type of disability and personal narratives using content analysis.The study finds that，the awarded role models are dominantly male，mainly from 20-50 years old，and most of them are with physical，visual and hearing disabilities，while other types of disabilities are hardly existent.The imagination of the role models also presents a binary between people’s physical and mental conditions，ignorance of human rights and lack of voices from the subjects.
